My husband Jim and I recently took a trip to Cabo. We went with some good friends of ours and stayed in a couple of beautiful Airbnb’s (Casitas) by Casa Moonshine. Our friend’s daughter and son in-law had completed the Casitas in October of last year. The place was fabulous. We got to enjoy wildlife, mostly burros, a lizard, vultures, roadrunners and woodpeckers. We also had the rare privilege to watch a rattle snake cross the road. We only saw one of those, which was a welcome relief! We stayed in Los Zacatitos and had a most wonderful restaurant a minutes drive away called Zacs. The Casitas boasted of a beautifully designed swimming pool and a very lovely and accommodating palapa. I did manage to get through the plane ride there and back! I now dream about that remarkably beautiful place. I would definitely return, snakes and all! For more information about this peaceful and lovely place, please write to me.
The most impressive sight, that was visible for several miles and from different perspectives, was a cross made of raw metals called the Macotela Cross. It was a welcome reminder of Who created the earth and all that’s in it. God is creator and through Jesus all things came into being! John, the Apostle of Jesus, wrote; “the “Word” became flesh and dwelt among us”.
”In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.“ John 1:1-3
”And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.“ John 1:14 NASB1995 https://bible.com/bible/100/jhn.1.14.NASB1995
I did find myself out of my comfort zone, because I tend to draw into myself as I absorb my surroundings. This leaves me with ponderings of what I could have said or better yet, asked. One day I hope to return to that beautiful and raw place, filled with giant Cardon Cactus and flowering succulents and wildlife. I would love to revisit whale watching, which took my breath away! I hope to visit new places to absorb and explore. I want to return and spend more time with the people of Cabo. I want to ask them about that metal cross on the hill, overlooking various vantage points in San Jose. I want to ask the people about their lives and hear their stories. My hope is to to share what that cross means to them. What it means to me. In the meantime, I pray I can come out of my safe little shell without all my needs being met and continue to share the most remarkable true story I know.
