Today was the final day of homework in my Precept bible study of Isaiah. I completed chapter 66 and have my final class tomorrow.  It’s hard to reach the end.  I feel that I’ve gained a lot of insight from reading and studying but also feel we just tipped the iceberg.  It was a rich study and filled me with much to apply to my life!  It was also a great study in contrast to what is going on in the world right now.  God wasn’t kidding around when He spoke to Isaiah and to His people through Isaiah.  Make no mistake, He included us in this day, as well.

“”For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind. “But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; For behold, I create Jerusalem for rejoicing And her people for gladness. “I will also rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in My people; And there will no longer be heard in her The voice of weeping and the sound of crying.”  ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭65:17-19. NASB

What was hard about this study was the reminder, and it was steady, of the woe to those who do not respond to God’s calling.  Those who go their own way.  We all choose.  I’ve been on the “going my own way” side of unbelief.  My life was not happy and I floundered at every steep and hilly turn.  Sometimes when things were smooth I cried out in pain.  I was also ungrateful.  It’s because I was lost in sin.  I knew I needed out but did not understand how to find that narrow path.  A friend began telling me about Jesus.  Jesus of the bible.  She described what I needed.  It wasn’t always easy and it took some time to get here.  The future God speaks of in Isaiah is coming.  It will come and there will be none to stop it!

The Bible is truth and all it requires Is for a person to pick it up and begin reading.  You let it speak to you.  You read…(for those of you, Gentile or Jew, seeking God and truth)

“that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, ” WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for ” WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.””  ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:9-13‬ ‭NASB‬‬

…Then find some folks who call themselves “biblical” Christians (they believe that the whole bible is true) and worship our God together.  Of course God wants you to know Him and that is through scripture.  Start with John.  Classes really help.  Know you are not alone!  You have now joined many Christians worldwide that will one day be together in new heavens and a new earth.

“”For just as the new heavens and the new earth Which I make will endure before Me,” declares the LORD, “So your offspring and your name will endure. “And it shall be from new moon to new moon And from sabbath to sabbath, All mankind will come to bow down before Me,” says the LORD. “Then they will go forth and look On the corpses of the men Who have transgressed against Me. For their worm will not die And their fire will not be quenched; And they will be an abhorrence to all mankind.”” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭66:22-24‬ ‭NASB‬‬

And last but not least, God is the great comforter.  He reminds us of this in Isaiah when Jerusalem is made new.  And, take heart.  Jesus tells us He has overcome the world.  The promises are real and we do have a Faithful and True Savior!  The peace of God and His Son Jesus Christ, be with you all!

“As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you;  And you will be comforted in Jerusalem.” – Isaiah 66:13 NASB
