Jim, Me and Hope

First and foremost, again, I have to thank God for fellow believers that we have bumped into as fellow campers, whether neighbors or fellow dog park dwellers.  It’s fun and important to share faith and also helps strengthen the ability to share and be a light, reflecting God through Christ Jesus!  I need the strengthening and support.  I relish these opportunities.

He leads the humble in justice, and He teaches the humble His way. – Psalm 25:9. NASB

“Praus” is a great word.  It is the Greek word for “gentle”.  Humble can also be used to describe the term or, submissive.  (We are learning the Beatitudes right now in my Precept Bible class.) It means that one maintains their strength while submitting themselves to God. Think of a horse or lion that has been tamed.  It has learned to yield or submit to its master and to control its natural instincts.  Praus.  Tamed power.

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!  Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem!

Behold your King is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, Humble, and mounted on a donkey. Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey. – Zechariah 9:9 NASB

Strengthening and submitting.  Seems like a contradiction.  Again I defer to that Greek word Praus.  It is attainable when we live in the Spirit.  We grow stronger and stand firm in faith while we bend to God’s will.  Sanctification. Refinement.  Purification.  The process of faith to faith!  (See Romans 1:16-17)  So, we need to share in our faith.  That means sharing God’s word with fellow believers (church, including online, small groups, bible study) and sharing with people we meet, where ever we are!  That’s how I’ve found fellow believers in our travels.  Praise God.
