The world’s wisdom vs God’s wisdom.  Do we know Him?  Do we try to comprehend His sovereignty, His power?  Are we more concerned with worldly things and worries in today’s culture?  Better yet, do we seek His wisdom or our own?

Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe?  Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? – 1Corinthians 1:20

I can get my head around this.  As my husband and I travel the western and Midwest states we have met many people.  I have gotten into quite a few conversations about God and have come to realize that many feel God is a savior of our foolishness.  This is not true unless ones repents of their sins and comes to know and follow Jesus Christ.  I think part of man’s foolishness is to take shortcuts, physically and mentally.  The thought process may resemble this.  If we’ve decided to accept Jesus we have a free get into heaven card, not fully comprehending what this means.  Many think religion, or being religious is the assurance that we are on the right track.  It’s a beginning but not the end goal.  We are not called to be part timers of the word but to live in the word.  It is a process, but one we should be devoted to from the moment we believe.  The extreme foolishness of the world, is people who don’t want to know God!  The world see’s the wisdom of God as foolishness.  Think about that!  If you believe, nonbelievers think you are a fool.  It’s a moment to comprehend why those who are called “children of God” are truly blessed.  We get it… and we get Him!

Do not complain, brethren, against one another, so that you yourselves may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door. – James 5:9

We are in this broken world together.  God will have the final word (thanks for reminder Pastor Roy!).  The sermon from my church in Utah was very appropriate in practicing God’s wisdom.  It was about staying strong in your faith.  Here are some terms Pastor Roy used:
Be patient
Persevere
Perspective

As an example, brethren, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.  We count those blessed who endured.  You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord’s dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful. – James 5:10-11

Learn who God is, then fully rely on Him.  God’s wisdom will reveal  itself and you will be able to draw from it.  Wisdom means we don’t use it against those who are perishing.  The world is broken.  The foolishness of the world cannot see how great is our Lord.  We can show the world His greatness by how we behave.  Do you behave like Christ is your mentor, your everything?   Or, do you shine a little on Sunday then forget Who’s you are during the week?  I’m not the judge but I can relate to the foolishness.  I’ve been there.  I look back at my brokenness and thank my Lord that I have repented of my sins and continue to purify my heart for the One true God!  I seek His wisdom and pray I can pass on the richness of His love and grace to those who still live in a dark and unknowingly, foolish world.   I also pray I can continue to gain God’s wisdom.  I leave you with a couple of quotes that I felt help reveal some of God’s wisdom in sanctifying us!

What we see as only the process of reaching a particular end, (our dream/goal) God sees as the goal itself.

It is the process, not the outcome, that is glorifying to God.  Oswald Chambers

The remarkable thing about fearing God is that when you fear God you fear nothing else, whereas if you do not fear God you fear everything else. “Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord”;…
