In Act’s, the rulers and leaders of the people of Jerusalem confront Peter and John and jail them for healing in Jesus’s name.  Many signs and wonders had been happening in the last  50+ days.  There was a trial, a call for a choice of who to find guilty.  Then followed a Crucifixion, a resurrection and the ascension, all of the one called Jesus of Nazareth.  Now men who had been with Jesus and witnessed all of these events are again healing in His name.  This rankles the leadership, who, including many, plotted His death.

being greatly disturbed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. – Acts 4:2 NASB

I look at the great trees of the Redwood Forests and the giant Sequoias and I think of how all of creation groans for the cleansing, healing power of God.  We are all broken, living in a broken world.  If we believe, we stand firm.  The trees have no choice but to take root, grow, then wither and die, waiting for renewal.  We, however, get to choose in this life, before we wither and die!  Despite leaders who were trying to shut down the Apostles, even more people came to know the refreshing, healing power of God.  May we carry on, proclaiming the resurrected Christ!

Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, – Acts 3:19-20 NASB

May the Lord refresh you and comfort you, in your walk with Him.
