I get very excited as September approaches and is now here!  Every year for the last seven-plus years I have participated in a Precept bible study class.  This year we begin with the historical document “Acts”.  I will be sharing a bit of what I’m learning as we go through this book from the New Testament.  What excites me about Acts, is the narrative of how Saul (Paul) began his faith journey after meeting Jesus on the road to Damascus.   I also look forward to the many other journeys documented in this book.

and he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” – Acts 9:4

I love this painting by Caravaggio.  It is called “The Conversion of St. Paul”.  I’ve posted this painting before.  The use of chiaroscuro (Using bold contrasts between light and dark) for the composition and the dramatic portrayal of Paul’s conversion from Judaism to Christianity, makes my heart fill with the enormity of love for God through His Son Jesus Christ.   The bible is my go-to-book.  This new study?  My heart is on fire for more knowledge of Who God is and why He sent Jesus.

May your week be wonderful and filled with His word.
